We mentioned back in June that iOS 7 uses location data to incorporate Google Now-style info into the Notification Center. While this is one of many location-based services that rely on tracking your movements, that data is generally not directly accessible to smartphone users. With iOS 7, however, it is.
German website Protecus showed how you can display a complete history of the locations you’ve visited since installing the OS (in this case, Beta 5). Buzzfeedpointed out that the data has limitations, but can be extremely precise in some cases.
The information isn’t always accurate, nor is it comprehensive — for instance, I’ve never been to a U.S. Army recruiting office, it just happens to be near my office — but for some locations, like my apartment, the records are accurate down to the hours and minutes I’ve spent there …
If you’re using the beta of iOS 7, you can access the data here:
Settings → Privacy → Location Services → System Services (at the bottom) → Frequent Locations
